In this month's bulletin

New studies on

  • Person-centred care handover in ED can this be standardised?
  • An Australian study found telerehabilitation comparable to in-person physiotherapy consultations for patient satisfaction and adherence.
  • An Australian RCT trial of 105 patients across multiple Australia ED departments comparing “dwell time” of blood collection by PIVC or venepuncture.
  • Keeping graduate nurses. A Chinese study reviewed surveys to find common factors to keep their nursing graduate workforce after the first year.              
  • A comprehensive meta-analysis reviewed the last randomised controlled trials to confirm that folic acid provides an overall benefit for stroke prevention.

Remote Access

Cabrini Health Library OpenAthens User Registration

Cabrini Staff - From May 28th 2024, all Cabrini staff with an email domain  @cabrini.com.au no longer need to self -register for remote access.

  •  OpenAthens is now linked to the local staff directory, single sign-on only required.

Accredited Staff - Register Here  to access resources provided by the Cabrini Health Library offsite.

  • Your account will be verified and activated within 24 hours or next business day.
  • Once your OpenAthens account is confirmed you can login directly to access resources via our offsite links.

At home or outside the Cabrini network  simply Google "Cabrini Health Libguides" to access the main library page and to login to resources. If you are on the internet look for the OpenAthens icon and login. Please note we do not subscribe to everything so please ask if you need help. 

VPN (Cabrini staff) - The type of VPN provided by Cabrini IT allows remote access to Cabrini Intranet and access to a staff member's drives, it is not a tool for accessing Library resources from offsite, you must use the Open Athens pathway for access.
