This guide provides a list of commonly referenced documents

Book APA style Examples

Book and Book Chapter examples.
  • No edition  information is required for first editions.
  • Capitalise only the first word of the title and proper nouns.
  • If the book has been read on an e-reader, include this information in square brackets, after the title, e.g. [Kindle version].
  • Put the title of the book in italics.
  • For an electronic book, include the DOI in place of the publisher details.  If the electronic book doesn't have a DOI, use the URL, preceded by the words "Retrieved from"
  • Publication information : Give the city, and if the city is not well know for publishing or could be confused with another location the state or province or country

If the work is published by an editor instead of authors, please use the term  (Editor) of (Eds) in parentheses

Electronic or eBook Publication

The structure of a book is consistent, see APA Format Style for a book , for an eBook add the DOI or URL after the publisher information.
